Typically meaning overwhelmed or being behind on the task or tasks at hand, the term seems to sum up how I often feel when contemplating the future. Please do not misunderstand me, as I do not think this to be at all negative, it just simply is. A contentment with feeling slightly lost. Though the term 'in the weeds' may imply the need to catch-up and regain control I find that the phrase also lends itself to the sense of waywardness and wonder.
